The project is developing 4,400 ha of irrigated land in the Mid-Western Region of Nepal through a grant of the European Commission worth € 8.1 million . The Department of Irrigation, Ministry of Water Resources,  is the Government executing agency. A Project Management Unit responsible for the management on a day to day basis has been set up by this department. This unit is co-headed by a Nepalese co-director appointed by the Government and an European co-director appointed by the EC.They have equal status, act jointly and share all tasks of managing and implementing the Project . The EC has appointed GITEC CONSULT to provide the technical assistance.
